Enrollment and Student Academic Information Bulletin

New Student Registration — August 13-16, 2018

All students who are enrolling on the Bloomington campus for the first time are eligible to register during New Student Registration. This includes all new undergraduate students, new graduate students, and intercampus transfer students.

In addition, all returning students who were not enrolled on the Bloomington campus during Spring 2018 are eligible to register at this time.

Registration using the Student Center

Use the Student Center from locations where you have online access, including computers on campus or in your living space.

Registration Procedure

For information about IU-Bloomington's registration process, refer to the Registration Procedure section of the Early Registration page. If you need detailed registration instructions, see Student Central's page on Steps to Register.

Fee Payment

Your bill will show the fees associated with your registration, as well as any other outstanding charges on your account. Your bill will be generated and made available to you via the Web.

Late Payment Fee

A late payment fee is assessed if payment is not received in the Office of the Bursar by the due date on the bill and each month your account remains past due. Refer to Late Payment Fee in the Financial Information section for additional information.

Monitor your account and access your bills online through One.IU. Failure to receive the bill notification will not be accepted as a reason for missing the payment deadline.

Important Note About Withdrawal

Failure to pay does not withdraw you from all classes. Should you decide not to attend the Bloomington campus, you must follow the procedures for withdrawal from all courses given in the Enrollment Bulletin. There is no automatic cancellation of your registration for nonpayment. If you do not withdraw properly, you risk receiving grades of F in your courses. You will also be responsible for all course fees, plus any applicable late fees, through the time you complete a total withdrawal. (See Fee Refund Policy in the Financial Information section.)

Financial Aid Recipients

Your electronic bill will show the amount of anticipated financial aid awarded for the fall term, provided:

  • your account has not been encumbered by the Student Loan Administration; and
  • you have met the enrollment and financial eligibility requirements for the financial aid awarded.

Your bill will reflect the total amount that you are to pay by the due date specified on the bill.

Your financial aid awards will be credited to your student account 10 days prior to the first day of classes. If, for any reason, eligibility requirements are not met within 30 days after that date, you will be responsible for payment, including late payment fees and other penalties.

Disbursement of Refunds

Financial aid awards will be credited to students’ accounts and applied to their financial obligations to Indiana University. Any remaining amount will be refunded to the student via direct deposit to the student’s chosen financial institution. Students are directed to the Direct Deposit app at One.IU to provide the required banking information.
